Whether you choose a WiFi triac dimmer for LED or a touch panel dimmer, this system guarantees precise and efficient dimming for your lighting setup.

FAQs about Laimi AC Triac Dimmer

What is the maximum load capacity (in watts) of the triac dimmer?

The maximum output current of our triac dimmer is 1.4A. Theoretically, it can handle a maximum load of 308W under 220V AC. However, due to the variety of designs for LED lights and dimmable LED drivers, the maximum power when connected to a dimmer controller for LED lights depends on the power factor. Additionally, the installation environment and heat dissipation conditions can also affect the maximum power. If overheating occurs, please reduce the power usage.

Can triac dimmers be used to adjust all types of LED lights?

Not all LED lights are suitable for adjustment with triac dimmers, as this depends on the design of the LED light's driver circuit. Non-optimized drivers may cause poor dimming, flickering, or damage when using a triac dimmer. Use compatible smart LED dimmers for LED lights for best results.

How to choose a suitable triac dimmer?

Consider the power rating of the dimmer to ensure it matches the power of the LED lights. Also, pay attention to the dimmer's dimming range, linearity, and whether it supports the required dimming method, such as leading-edge dimming or trailing-edge dimming.

Why do LED lights flicker when using a triac dimmer?

It may be due to insufficient holding current of the triac dimmer. When the current flowing through the triac is lower than its holding current, the triac dimmer switch will turn off automatically, causing the LED lights to flicker. It could also be an impedance matching issue, or that when the conduction angle is small, both input voltage and current are low, leading to insufficient power supply to the chip and circuit shutdown, resulting in LED flicker.
